One of the most powerful and simple practises I’ve been implementing recently is taking an hour or longer to sit outside in the evenings. I feel this can be really powerful to clear my mind, relax and reset. I mentioned in another post a while back how when I was younger one of my favourite things to do was to take a walk down to the beach in the evening and just sit and concentrate on the vastness of the ocean, it was, almost foolproof in the sense that anything that was coming up or bothering me at the time could always be dwarfed by the crashing waves and seemingly endless depth. Nowadays I have a similar technique but instead of the ocean I just use the sky, the surrounding trees, and the sounds that find their way into my field of awareness from afar. This is so beautiful, it reminds me of how lucky I am to be able to experience, well… Anything! It’s crazy to me how something as simple as just sitting on a chair outside at night or laying back on the trampoline can induce such profound and raw feelings of gratitude and connectivity for me now. Honestly guys, trust me just spend some time outside in the evenings looking up at the stars and the sky, even if it’s just 15 minutes, the cosmic tapestry that we have available to us can become more engaging than any new video game expansion or any episode of any TV show.
